This is another inexpensive upgrade/modification, that not only IMHO Looks better, and might offer some added safety. I just bought an 08 Ninja 250 with 24,000 miles on it and just cleaned and lubed the chain and was wondering after how many miles the chain and sprocket should be replaced? I have a feeling that the previous owner of the bike did not maintain it very well as the bike was practically bone-dry on...

Hi All, I bought my 2006 with only about 4700 miles on it but one thing that's a bit disconcerting is that the chain is a bit rusty. I know the bike was kept outside (in Seattle so you know it got more than a little wet) but I'm wondering if it needs replacing. I've done the other stuff - oil...

http://www.canyonchasers.net/shop/generic/chain.php Let's face it, without your chain, you ain't going anywhere. So why, then, do we ignore our chains for so long? Chains have gotten so good over the past 10 years that it is easy to forget about them. But an ounce of prevention is worth a...

    1. Alignment marks 2. Rear rear axle nut and safety pin. The torque value for the rear axle nut for your 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R is 72lbs. The size in standard is 1". It's not a perfect fit but the 1" socket did the job. 3. Adjustment bolt and lock (adjustment bolt is on the inside, the outside...

You should clean your chain every 300-500 miles depending on where your ride the most. If your mileage is mostly done on the freeway then you don't get as much dirt and debris and could get away with 500 miles in between cleanings. If you ride mostly back roads where dirt and debris builds up...

You can probably make this at home, to check the alignment of your chain and sprocket. It's basically a bracket that goes onto your rear sprocket then a long thin rod as a reference line to see if your chain is properly aligned.

As I know, O-ring chains are self lubricated so additional lubing is often unecessary. You just need to keep it clean, general rule of thumb is about 500 miles. I know a lot of people will not touch their chain with WD40, but I use it on my old F4i and the chain lasted for over 18k miles before...
