You can order both the service repair manual (http://www.kawasaki.com/DefaultFrame.aspx?strContentURL=/Site/VIVehicleInformation/VItechpubs.asp?intCatalogID%3d2%26CatalogTypeID%3d 4%26ProductTypeID%3d14%26ModelMarketingID%3d163%26 ModelCode%3dEX250J8F%26ModelYear%3d2008%26SHOWVEHT ABS%3d1) and the owner's manual (http://www.kawasaki.com/DefaultFrame.aspx?strContentURL=/Site/VIVehicleInformation/VItechpubs.asp?intCatalogID%3d2%26CatalogTypeID%3d 4%26ProductTypeID%3d14%26ModelMarketingID%3d163%26 ModelCode%3dEX250J8F%26ModelYear%3d2008%26SHOWVEHT ABS%3d1) directly from Kawasaki. The service repair manual will have very specific instructions as far as servicing your bike, where as the owner's manual will have very general information as far as how to operate your Ninja 250R.

Here's the directly to both service and owner's manuals (http://www.kawasaki.com/DefaultFrame.aspx?strContentURL=/Site/VIVehicleInformation/VItechpubs.asp?intCatalogID%3d2%26CatalogTypeID%3d 4%26ProductTypeID%3d14%26ModelMarketingID%3d163%26 ModelCode%3dEX250J8F%26ModelYear%3d2008%26SHOWVEHT ABS%3d1). It's $59.95 for the service repair manual, and $15.95 for the owner's manual.

Does the service repair manual come with the bike when you buy it new?

I bought mine from someone and got the owners manual and some papers for the owners warranty guide. Should I have received this?

Thanks

Nope. At least not that I know of. I bought my bike new and it only came with the warranty information and the owner's manual.

The service manual is a separate purchase.

Thanks for your quick reply. Just wanted to make sure I shouldn't have this or anything. Any work I get done would be at the kawasaki dealer, so I don't really need this I don't think.

You're welcome.

There's no need on spending money ($56 + not including shipping) on a manual if you do not plan on ever being the person to work on your bike. That's money that could be used for better things. Like partial payment for a track day. Or new gear. Or something else that's exciting. :D
