Any advise? My fiance and I are moving to Seattle, Washington at the end of August. We dont want to sell our 250's though.
We have a company moving our stuff and they say we can put the bikes in with all of the other stuff, but I dont want "random box a" landing on anything and cracking it! ... what kind of tie downs do I use, should I get a pallet from my work to put the bikes on?

That's going to depend on what kind of truck they're going to use to move your bike. They may just tow it behind. Can you check with them to see how they're going to transport it?

I know for sure that it will be on the truck.

You may need a chock like this, http://www.250r.net/forum/showthread.php?t=62, to keep the front wheel from turning. I always use at least 4 tie downs when I have my bike on the back of my truck. You can also build a frame round the crate to help protect the bike, and/or remove the fairings and put it in a separate box.

I drove a 14' box truck up here to San Jose. The truck was filled with tools, pallet jack, wheelbarrow, ladders, trench plates, etc...scary shit to be around my bike. So I built a wall inside the truck about 4' from the rear. road my bike up the ramp. ratchet strap from the rear wheel to the side. front wheel strapped to the other side. screwed a 2x4 over the flat part of the kickstand and one just inside the kickstand. made the drive up fine. front wheel strap was totally loose when I got here but no mishaps (I was nervous the whole time though)

If anything happens to the truck... I wonder if insurance covers it o_O
