I can only go 75 mph on my 2008 250R. This is on a flat surface and no wind.
Max rpm is 9000. Runs good at 70

Anyone had this problem?

The fastest I can go on my 09 is right at 104(indicated). I reckon I could lose some weight(i'm at 180).
9000 at 75 seems right to me. I'm turning right at 8000 running 70 (indicated, actual experience shows that im actually at 64 mph) I can only squeeze out 104 when Im hugging the tank. When im sitting up, the best I can do is about 96.
Unless you are very heavy, I think you should be able to run faster. I would start with a basic tune-up. Plugs, carb sync, a/f mixture tune. How many miles are on the bike?

I weigh 250. The bike has 6,000 miles on it.

That may not be too far from the truth.
HP=(((MPH/234)^3) x weight)
18.10=(((75/234)^3) x 550)

That about makes sense.
That is assuming that you and the bike weight only 550. This formula also does not factor in aerodynamic drag.

You may just need a bigger bike?

I've found I can run up to ~95 mph (indicated) on the highway, not sitting straight but not hugging the tank either. I weigh ~165, though, which, like Kenny said, is a factor on top speed.

I ride at 80/85 at about 10,000 rpm. I've gone faster, but this is usually my highway speed. But, I've def ran it a lot faster. I haven't had optimal chances bc every time I go out, there seems to be a lot of volume on the roads. And, I just got my bike last thursday.

Oh and I'm a girl too...so I weigh a lot less (we won't discuss weight here...it's a girl thing) lol

We won't discuss weight here, but let me guess, your bike will run 140mph, won't it? lol

I have ran the bike at 115ish. I weigh in at 130lbs and fully tucked with full throttle. I also have a double bubble wind screen which improves aerodynamics a little.

"rrisher"... sounds like you need to just rev it up a tad bit more and drop a gear... get it close to the redline to get anything else....or you need a tune up

I am 195 lbs and i top out at about 105 mph (indicated) thats between 11-12k rpm in top gear....

you definitely need to "tuck-in" ... wind does make a difference...
head wind will slow me as much as 10 mph
same with sitting up will keep me about 5-10 mph slower

a double bubble on the 250r shouldn't drop the cd too much. the 250r already has a rather generous amount of protection. and easy way to lose a .01cd or two, would be to pop off the mirrors and get some flushmounts for the front. strapping the front end to drop it would also help a significant amount as reducing the frontal area is the best way to lower cd.

FULL TUCK FRIENDS!

i forgot to point out that a double might actually have negative affects on these bikes unless you are strapping the front end down.
