Coming from a RR bike, sitting on the Ninja 250 is a bit too upright so I'm thinking about lowering the front just a bit to give it a more aggressive steering feel. Anyone tried it?

Woodcraft makes a bolt on replacement clip-on that lowers the bars to a bit more aggressive position.

I needed to lower the front forks a good 1.75" or so and had to go with a traditional clip-on which clamps on to the fork tube... I believe the tubes are 36mm... The triple clamps look pretty much the same on the new Generation 250 as on the older models. I'm sure it would be best to confirm with Woodcraft the special bolt on units made for the older 250's will work on the 08 model. Alternatively we could meet up and compare clip-ons old to new...

I believe I ordered them at kneedraggers. The Woodcraft site was not very cooperative... And kneedragger has the application chart for the clip-on's on their site as well...

Awesome, thanks for the info. Yeah I think it's possible for us to meet up and do a quick comparison. You can also use that as an excuse to get the little lady out of the house. :D

I actually lowered mine about 5mm. So far, it's still pretty tame to me because I'm used to the position of the 600RR. The 08 250R's "clip ons" have a "cap" design so the fork won't go through. I had to put 2 standard washers under the bolts to make the bars even.

I need to lower my 250r. I am 5'4" and the bike sits a bit to high for me. I can touch the ground with my toes and the balls of my feet, but that is it and it makes me a bit unstabble. What parts do I need to lower the front and back? And how much can I lower it? I am hoping to be able to touch the ground all the way with my feet. Any help would be appreciated !!

It depends on how low you want to go I posted a package kit which includes probably everything you'll need... I've lowered an '07 and an '05 for my girlfriend using slightly different parts but they both worked out well... The parts are going to be basically the same for the newer models... You may or may not need the whole kit if you only need a little lower seat height... We used different parts suppliers then the link I posted below but they are generally similar to what we used..

The parts consist of:
-Dog bones, which are lowering links for the rear of the bike.

-Riser blocks, which allow the forks to rise up through the triple clamps thus lowering the front end.

-Side/kick stand, to replace the original piece which will be too long after lowering the bike.. you can probably modify the factory kick stand but you'll have to do a little welding..
