Halo! :boink
I would recommend you get leather. Leather would be the strongest against the pavement compared to textile.
It would be best to go to your local gearshop and just try ALL of the jackets on. Every jacket fits different and have different characteristics. Look for leather jackets with hard armor inside. Some brands just call it CE armor which means it is approved in Europe.
Take a loot at SportBikeTrackGear: http://sportbiketrackgear2.homestead.com/STG_Femmoto.html
They have an entire section for ladies gear and have some nice YouTube reviews. Consider getting pants, boots, and gloves if you haven't already. Also a chest/back protector isn't a bad idea either but that may be too far a stretch.
If it's hot where you live consider getting perforated and vented leather jackets. If it's a good design it would make you feel really cool.
Don't worry about getting hot in leathers, wear underarmour and get some perforated gear. Besides, everybody looks HOT in leathers. :naughty2

http://www.newenough.com have some great deals also. I have a heavy Joe Rocket Ballistic 3 textile jacket for my daily commute. Leather has better abrasion protection, but textile is a lot easier and cleaner for daily use.
Oh, welcome to the forum! :D

I have the male version of the stella breeze and would recommend it. Temperatures get in the triple digits out here and removing the inside liner of the jacket makes riding tolerable. Don't know how it holds up on a get-off.
...and it makes me look sexy

I use a Spidi women's jacket and it is fantastic. They are more expensive, but you get what you pay for. In my own opinion, don't skimp on leathers.

I have Alpinestars textile jacket, which was impervious to water for more than eight years.Their jackets are very good, if you are looking for quality, but make sure its a good fit before buying, but the holes or you will regret it when you ride in the summer.

Great advice! Definitely get to a place local to try on different styles and sizes to see what fits you best before buying something online... they aren't all the same, but the more you try on the more likely you'll know what size to buy. Although leather is probably the safer bet they do make a lot of textile jackets that would be fine for the daily commute... as someone else mentioned you do get what you pay for so don't skimp when it comes to your body! Good Luck!
