I've been wanting to buy a new exhaust for quite some time now but I’m too cheap to buy something that costs over 10% of the value of my bike. So instead, I drilled some holes to make it sound louder and to my surprise, it also gave me better response when I accelerate:woot

To do what I did, just drill a hole in between the five bolts at the end of the exhaust tip. You have to go through two walls. The first one really doesn't do anything, but once you penetrate the second wall you will hear the difference. Out of the five holes, I only completely drilled through 3 holes. I did all five to make it match and look like it came from the factory like that. I also did the drilling while the bike was on, it was completely safe:ohno. I can post up pictures if anyone is interested.

Just thought I share this info for cheapskates like myself. :noteeth

Techtonics aluminized steel cat back for about 250 bucks is awesome.I used it on my 87 and 92 GTI16V's.They are the best US VW aftermarket place.Aftermarket exhausts are expensive, some more than others. All provide a deeper and much louder sound/tone than stock.

Yeah, If you could send pics to see how it looks that would be awesome. I am currently looking into the SHINTO DBS Full system exhaust.

Good work and sounds like you just explored your hidden talent. By the way how loud is it? No restrictions in your area?

I think you should certainly post some pics.
