: San Diego Shops?

Hey guys,

I just started riding a few months ago. My dad sold me his old 2003 Ninja 250 on the cheap after my old truck died. Reason he parted with it on the cheap though is because it hasn't been taken care of super well.

I'm sure it needs some sort of maintenance. First off I think the valves need to be adjusted as I doubt they ever have been. It runs pretty well with the choke mostly open, but as I start to close it to lower the idle speed, if I get it down past 3k it loses power and dies. Valve adjustment right?

Problem with all of this is that I'm not very mechanically inclined at all. I'd like to start working on the bike myself and learning how to do more of this stuff myself but I'd like to have it in working shape beforehand, plus I have to start getting the tools to do so.

At any rate does anyone know of a good shop in the San Diego area I could take it to to have it all checked out? Quality work at good prices, maybe?

Thanks, and I look forward to getting to know some of you more as I continue to have questions :)

FBC (fun bike center) i know its a dealership but the people there are very nice and helpful. Alba action is near poway and they are not the coolest people ever but they know their stuff.
