Can the front bulbs be exchanged without removing all the plastic that the manual says remove?:naughty2

Yes, you can take out the bulb without removing the plastics. It's difficult the first time. Reach underneath the cowl, pull the plug, remove the rubber seal. Now this is where it gets tricky. There is a clip that holds the bulb. Make sure you know which part of the clip that goes to the hook. If you get it wrong you will be messing around with it for awhile. The clip should not take that much effort to put it back on the hook. Once done, put everything in reverse.

Straight forward, thanks. I tried sticking my little arm up there in an attempt to bypass plastic removal, then got concerned that I wouldn't be able to get the rubber covers on right afterwards. Now I see that the clips are the real pain.

Yup! It's a real pain the first time. I had two bulbs burn out already.
