I went to the class tonight and when I walked through the door, the guy we gave the deposit to tells me "my baby has arrived",..lol

I almost fell over....

Then on the way back to the class, there she was, blue and waiting for me..lol

They still have to do the wiring and put her together..I pick her up Monday..sweeeet

I am so freakin excited. The class was so cool tonight. Very informative.
Sunday we ride for 5 hours for training..:ohyaaa
I am the first person in my area to get the 0'9 Ninja from their place.

A huge congrats on your new bundle of joy!!! :D

There is no difference, that I know of, between the 08 and 09. Kawi didn't change anything.

If it doesnt come with a flux capacitor then its still an 08 design.

Glad to hear that u got ur bike, i put down a $200 deposit on mine, when i came in and they were still putting it together. I sorta jumped the lines of ppl waiting on it. This was back in March. So there wasnt as much buzz as it has now.

The quick story is that i came in on a wednesday when 3 just arrived and has not been entered in the computer. One of the sales guys called in 1 person that was inline for one. I started talking to another sales guy and he promise me one of the bikes if i put a deposit down. 2 days later i got delivered to my house.

So im sorry for all those that are still waiting inline. But not that sorry because it makes me so happy! hehehehe

I had originally wanted the 0'8, but they were not getting anymore. On Ebay, the 0'8's and some 0'7's were going for prices almost as high as a new 0'9!

So, we went into the dealer, he said if I put a deposit down, I would be the first person with an 0'9.

We go to the course training class today. It will be my very first time EVER on a bike.

I rode it for the first time tonight at the dealership....it was great! My husband rode it to my in-laws because by then it was dark and dark+new rider=disaster, so to play it safe we decided to do that until I get used to it.

Congrats on your find, I am curious though what'd you think of the class? Would you have rather had a little driving time on two wheels before hand, just to familiarize yourself?

I'm planning ON taking MSF too, can't beat it really learn to ride, plus no driving test @ DPS and insurance discounts..

Ride a bike! like a bicycle. best way to get balance going. After that its all about getting to know your bike and the limits*.

My class was awesome. I was scared though. I will admit it. Being a female and on top of that never in my entire 37 years even coming within 2 feet of a motorcycle.

We walked the bikes first, found the friction zone in clutch and the rest is history. I cannot believe how far I have come just from only 1 of 2 classes. I actuallY was able to get on my Ninja last night and ride it w/o dropping it. I basically used the same principals that were taught to me and when I brought the bike to the parking lot, I lined myself up with the lines on the pavement and walked the Ninja, just like in class. I got used to it and then within an hour, I had my feet on the pegs and taking off.

It rained all day today and my husband had to work anyways. Hopefully we have some nice days soon. FALL AND WINTER ARE COMING IN PA!:nono2

Sounds like you're doing it right lady! Keep up the good work. :noteeth Slow and easy is the best way to learn it. At YOUR OWN PACE. I cannot stress that enough with newbie female riders. Who cares how fast the boys or other girls are learning around you or what your husband /boyfriend knows. Just take your time and repeat every exercise. Set goals for yourself each time you go out. That way the whole experience will be even more rewarding.
I feel your pain. I was the only female in my MSF class.

Keep it up gal!

With regards to other people... remember that you're the one operating your motorcycle, not them. Go with what's comfortable for you.

Hehe got ya. I got balance pretty good, the manual transmision is my worry. Never even touched a standard transmision!

Appologies for the threadjack btw.

I would like to share an old Chinese proverb about riding motorcycles: Riding is like having intercourse. He who is slow and steady will stay up and erect. He who goes too fast will bust a nut and go limp. Maybe it was in a fortune cookie that I read this. I can't recall.

they are weird..we move in 2 weeks to 56 acres of bliss.....I am glad..we never had problems with them up until now. That day they were shirtless eventually, (2 women and one guy) in the their yard. The one womans boyfriend just left her recently and she is now loose and on the prowl, so now she and her friend I guess take turns on the guy shown in video.

Are there any extreme noticeable differences between 2008 and 2009?
I was wondering about the gauge, if it would be digital or not.

Platinum_blonde38
09-16-2008, 05:08 PM
nope..not digital.
I failed my MSF COURSE test. I got 92% on written, and completely had a brain fart on the figure 8 or whatever they are calling it now. They did not call it that. It was like a figure 8 in the solid lines. I totally freaked out. I passed the other 2 tests perfectly. I was tired, hot and almost like amnesia from the heat.
I did this part of the test perfectly in practice.

Kawasaki has made zero changes to the 09 250R. They will more then likely not make a change to the bike till 2010 (usually model changes are every 2 years) if at all. Any more changes to the bike could and probably will increase the price of the bike.

P.B. - Sorry to read that you didn't pass your MSF. Keep trying. The figure 8 test is the hardest but it's a necessary portion. Will they allow you to take just that portion as a make up test????
Keep on keepin on girl! Hugs.

I need to only take the course part again , since I passed with 92% on the written.
Atleast his time, I will know what I am doing. I did not even know how to start the bike at the begining of class..lmaooo

I thought you just press the red button on the throttle.:ohnoDURKIEDURKIEDOOOOO..LOL
Thanks for the encouragement..I need it.

That figure 8 drill is scary when you first look at it. I remember when I took that class years ago, I was like, "I hope I don't run into other bikers". LOL

Yeah, I don't think Kawi will make changes to the 250R soon especially seeing how well it sells as it is. It took them 20 years to change the previous model, and it was still their best selling bike even before the redesign.

Unless the majors in competition comes up with something of a serious threat they're probably going to hold off on the any major revisions... But seeing how the public has responded to the new gen. 250's, a threat might already be in the works... Time will tell...
